A rustic barn wedding is the perfect theme for an intimate celebration of marriage. Formerly owned by Dolly Parton’s parents, the Barn at Chestnut Springs is an incredibly romantic venue, hidden in a cove in the hills of East Tennessee. The barn features over 100,000 weddings per year and can hold up to 120 guests. Sitting on a thirteen acre tract of land, it’s a beautiful piece of life in the Smokies.
On a beautiful day in late September, Erica and Derrick were joined by friends and family as they said their I do’s. The couple traveled from Ohio, while their guest list of around 100 people arrived from states all around the country. The wedding had a wine and whiskey theme; decorated with Marietta wine and Tennessee whiskey. Some of the guests, including the bridal party and family, stayed in a cabin in the mountains which could sleep up to sixty people. Many of the featured photos are taken here.
We wanted to highlight the natural elegance of the landscape, as well as the beautiful affairs of the celebration.
Here is their story:
The adorable flower girl's, Ashlynn and Rylan, wore the Charlotte dress in ivory. Erica commented, "I turned to these dresses into a rush order (Daria was so kind and wonderful when I sent her a frantic message in need of flower girl dresses) because my nieces screamed when we put them in the tutu type dresses I had a friend make for our wedding. They did not want anywhere near the material, so it just wasn't going to work out."
After the wedding festivities came to an end, the newly weds enjoyed a 12 day honey moon vacation in Italy.
The couple soon came home with a little souvenir. Their baby girl, Presley Eden was born February 16th, 2016. Hoping to have a daughter someday, Erica saved the additional Charlotte dress that she purchased. Fast forward 8 months, Erica and Derrick's beautiful baby girl is featured below modelling this dress.
